History & Overview

The United Grain and Fuel company here, owned by Yeager and Son of West Unity, Ohio, was sold early this week to A. L. (Jake) Rufenacht, who has managed the local branch of the business since 1930. Rufenacht moved with his family to Waldron in May 1931. He had been an employee of the firm here and at West Unity for 22 years.

The company has operated for 15 years under its present name, the business being purchased in 1928 from Rings and Gneiser.

The firm does an extensive coal and grain business in this area. Harley Brightbill, who has worked for the company for several years, will continue to work for the new owner.
